#Knysna burning - Fire Relief

Up to 10,000 people have been evacuated and some have lost everything they own. The Backabuddy Team received sad news on the 7th of June, that one of our colleague’s family home and restaurant burnt down during the storm. We have decided to set up a camapaign and do what we can to support the families that have been affected by this devastation. 

At the time of writing, we are receiving some coverage of the safety of loved-ones in the media. However, most of the area (and surrounds) have no power, so direct contact is nearly impossible. While we know that many people are being housed in community halls and other facilities, the strong winds are making it nearly impossible for helpcopters to extinguish the fire.
