Fred Norman Senior Secondary School is based in a southern Johannesburg township called Ennerdale. The Fred Norman Alumni was established in 2009 and is growing in strength. We are making it our mission to improve the quality of education in the school and transform the learner's experience in this challenging environment plagued by crime as a result of high unemployment levels amongst other things.
The School Governing Body reported to members of the Alumni that the school is currently facing challenges with learner behaviour in terms of time keeping | attendance | discipline.
How can we expect disciplined conduct if we rob learners of their dignity by ignoring the state of the school's sanitation? All stakeholders need to work together to convert the school into a conducive learning environment as a matter of urgency. This bathroom revamp project is a matter of ultra urgency as we are in the deep throws of a 2nd wave of the corona virus which is spreading faster and wider than the first wave.
We are appealing to the global public and businesses at large, the business and residential community of Ennerdale and in particular, each and every individual who passed through the classromms of Fred Norman Senior Secondary School, whether you matriculated there or just spent a year or two there. Please assist us with this special project as we endeavour to kick of 2021 by restoring dignity to the learners by revamping the school bathrooms to make them useable, safe, clean and germ free.

Fred Norman Senior Secondary School is based in a southern Johannesburg township called Ennerdale. The Fred Norman Alumni was established in 2009 and is growing in strength. We would like to make it our mission to improve the quality of education in the school and transform the learner's experience in this challenging environment plagued by crime as a result of high unemployment levels amongst other things.
The school has plenty of space to develop facilities for their learners, that space is vacant, unkept and used by learners to hide from educators amongst the tall grass, smoke, and get involved in illegal activities on the school grounds.
Funds raised will be allocated to achieve the following:
1. SCHOOL HALL (Building of a brand new stand-alone structure on the school's premises):
Includes versatile stage for concerts, performances, events, awards evenings, parent, student body, and school governing body meetings, etc.
We, the members of the school's Alumni Association also stood outside in the heat and cold exposed to the elements because the school did not and still does not have a school hall. We all share memories of other learners fainting around us during assembly time.
2. MULTI-PURPOSE SPORTING FACILITIES:
Includes versatile soccer, rugby, hockey, and netball fields. Girls and boys changing rooms and locker facilities with showers and toilets.
3. STATE OF THE ART SCIENCE LAB:
Existing facilities adapted and converted.
4. LIBRARY AND COMPUTER CENTRE:
Brand new facility to be constructed, equipped with computers and a physical library for learners to conduct research, attend various computer-based classes and have access to appropriate literature for both social and educational development purposes.
The aim of the Alumni Association of Fred Norman Secondary School, known as the Fred Norman Alumni, is to promote, foster, and maintain links between Alumni members and all stakeholders at Fred Norman Senior Secondary School. We also aim:
To encourage all members of the Alumni to maintain a continuous interest in the welfare of Fred Norman Senior Secondary School.
To serve as ambassadors for Fred Norman Senior Secondary School by promoting its best interests, building on its reputation, and supporting its development.
To strengthen networks of former and current learners, creating conduits for development.
To promote the establishment of as well as regulate and support the establishment of other Alumni Associations,
Perform duties identified by Alumni in furtherance of the objectives of the Association and the promotion and development of Fred Norman Senior Secondary School.
