Personal message
My name is Elmar Landman and i am Currently 28 Years of age.
Doing the Ironman has always been challenging in more than one way... One must not just be fit, but you need to be mentally strong to get through those early mornings and late-night training sessions. Growing up I've always been involved in charity work as my mom runs and Children's home in Port Elizabeth Called Sinethemba Children's Care Center. So with that being said I've always had a soft spot for kids.
When I heard about the smile foundation doing corrective Plastic and Reconstructive surgery on kids' faces, I knew that this is something I need to be a part of.
Why the Smile foundation ?
Growing up I had to face bullies and being teased as I was not perfect according to some of their standards. Thinking of these beautiful kids being born that way it already breaks my heart knowing what they might face in this world.
So I have decided to take on this challenge to help these kids have a smile on their face! it takes one smile to light up someone's day!
I have only recently discovered the true meaning of the word LOVE... And I pray that these kids will experience that word whilst wearing their smile.

We offer holistic care to transform the lives of these children who are threatened with rejection by society.
The Smile Foundation is about meaningfully connecting people to bring about new opportunities, new futures, with the result being – new lives.
