Personal message

I am asking for your kindness on behalf of my mother who desperately needs help. 
 
My mom needs urgent treatment for  a unique condition due to an Hiatus Hernia operation that was done about 8 years ago. The valve that they had to repair caused more damage due to them making the opening from the esophagus to the stomach too narrow and that caused years of food to get stuck and build up in the esophagus. This then lead to severe damage in the throat muscles, making it extremely risky to swallow. The doctor wants to operate as soon as possible before more irreversible damage is done as this can become life threatening.
 
Since middle December until now my mom cannot eat any solid food due to the risk of choking, more damage to the esophagus, build up of food and even starvation due to no food or liquid being able to pass into the stomach. 
 
My mom was unfortunately retrenched in 2021 and cannot afford a medical aid at this time. 
 
Prof Heine van der Walt suggested that my mother do not attempt to go to a government hospital for the surgery as this is such a specialized and rare case that he fears the doctors do not have the correct knowledge or skills at any government hospital.
 
My mother has been the rock of our family, standing up after each knock life has thrown her. She has selflessly done everything for her family and it breaks my heart seeing her ill with added financial stress on top of it all. 
 
I am asking for your help as we have exhausted all other options and we truly have no other way to help her.
 
I want to ask for any donations to assist with the medical bills for the operation, hodpiral stay and after care to help my mom get better.  She deserves to be the one looked after for once and I hope and pray we can do this one thing for her.

My mom urgently needs treatment for complications from a past surgery.

The damage caused by a narrow opening in her esophagus has made swallowing extremely risky, and the doctor recommends immediate action to prevent further harm. Since mid-December, she's been unable to eat solid food, posing a serious risk of choking and starvation.

Unfortunately, she lost her job last year and can't afford medical insurance. The specialist advises against a government hospital due to the complexity of her case.

My mom has always been the pillar of our family, but now she needs our support. I've exhausted all other options and turn to you for help. Donations for her medical expenses, including the operation, hospital stay, and aftercare, would make a world of difference.
