Personal message

Hi, my name is Elaine Clarke and I will be swimming from Ospadaletti, Italy to Monte Carlo, Monaco on Saturday 6 August 2016. The total distance is 25km of which I intend swimming 10km.

I have no background of competitive swimming and I don’t have the best swimming technique. I didn’t even make the school team, and until 18 months ago, the farthest I had ever swum was the Midmar Mile. I signed up for my first Madswimmer event in 2014 and swam in a relay across Lake Tanganika, which was an absolutely amazing experience.

Having the opportunity to participate in these incredible events and at the same time raise money for a great cause is a WIN!

The charity selected to benefit from the swim is called “Just the One Foundation” and all proceeds raised will be utilized to help educate under privileged children by sponsoring their tuition. We aim to raise enough money to support four children in 2017.
