Personal message
Welcome to our 'Help Us Grow' campaign!
Educare Mpame operates two preschools in a remote area of South Africa's Eastern Cape, serving 60 children between the ages of 2 and 5. Our village has scarce educational opportunities, and we are dedicated to providing these young learners with a strong foundation for life. The local healthcare and nutrition situation is challenging, and we aim to make a lasting impact on these children's well-being.
Thanks to your generous support, we've successfully established two thriving vegetable gardens at our preschools this year. We need your ongoing assistance to complete and maintain these gardens, ensuring their sustainability.
Our Campaign Goal:
We aim to raise R25,000 to cover the expenses of finishing the gardens and sustaining our preschool vegetable garden. These funds will be allocated to:
- Establishing new raised beds
- Purchasing seeds and seedlings
- Replenishing soil
- Maintaining garden tools
- Organizing educational activities for the children
Why Sustaining Our Vegetable Gardens at Our Preschools Matters:
- Educational Benefits: A preschool vegetable garden offers endless hands-on learning opportunities. Children are exposed to planting, caring for plants, and the vegetable lifecycle, fostering a deep appreciation for nature and sustainability.
- Healthy Eating Habits: Growing vegetables encourages children to try new foods and develop healthier eating habits. They are always eager to taste what they've grown, making veggies fun and appealing.
- Environmental Awareness: Our garden teaches children the importance of environmental care and reducing waste.
- Community Involvement: The garden serves as a focal point for community engagement, with parents and children working together to create a beautiful and educational space.
How You Can Help:
Please consider donating to our 'Help Us Grow' campaign. Every contribution, regardless of its size, directly impacts our preschools and the children's health and education.
Additionally, please share our campaign with friends and family on social media.
Thank you for being a part of our mission to nurture young minds and create a greener, healthier future for all!
Meeting our target will enable Educare to complete the gardens as initially planned. The response thus far has been overwhelming, with grandparents, parents, and children actively participating in the gardens. The raised beds, a new concept for our community, have sparked interest among others who wish to implement similar gardens in their spaces.
Breakdown of Expenses:
- Labor to finish fencing and raised beds: R8000.00
- Tools: R4100
- Seeds: R1500
- Fertilizer: R3000
- Water reticulation: R4000
- Remaining funds for maintenance

Educare Mpame South Africa

Edu-Care Mpame has to date, opened two preschools in our village, called "Sunshine" and "Little Flower" crèche. We are situated in a very remote village in the Eastern Cape called Mpame.
We realized that there were no preschool facilities close enough for our children in the community to attend. We want to create an excellent foundation for these children so that when they enter Grade 1, they will be at the correct level socially and academically.
