It’s that time of the year again – as I work towards that gruelling and difficult day by running the Comrades Marathon on 9 June.

“WHY?” is a question I am often asked

As some of you who know me – you understand the love I have for my chosen foundation – RAINBOWS AND SMILES.

The mission of Rainbows and Smiles is to provide emotional, social and financial support to families and caregivers in need when a child (or children) of that family is diagnosed with cancer. 

This year I want to dedicate my run to the selfless people within the organisation, who give of their time, their emotions and at times, their entire beings to make a difference in the lives of these children and their families or caregivers. 

With your donation, their task is made a bit easier in that they do not have to say no to a family who are in desperate need of assistance.

With your donation, they are able to provide that little bit more to a family in the way of basic necessities when a mom has to give up work in order to look after her sick child

With your donation, they are able to provide transport costs for that vital treatment at the hospital.

And sadly, also with your donation, they are able to contribute towards funeral costs to honour their child.

Every penny will help so my heartfelt thanks to you in advance.
