My name is Marietjie van der Walt from Louis Trichardt. Aunt Daphney Till and her daughter Marcelle Byrnes are friends and neighbour's.Aunt Daphney is 86 years old and has been diagnosed with dementia five years ago. She is mainly bed bound as she can't help herself anymore and has fallen a few times. She is using nappies permanently and also needs supplements/meal replacements as her teeth don't fit anymore due to immense weight loss. Aunt Daphney needs full time care and her daughter Marcelle is taking full time care of her. Marcelle's only income is commission based and while she is taking care of mom has decreased signicantly due to time constraints, no work no pay. Aunt Daphney receives only a sassa grant which cover their rent. She gets her medication from the state hospital. They don't have any family assistance.
The proceeds of this campaign is to support them mainly with nappies, needed supplements and other much needed necessities to ease their burden a little.
