I am 45 years old and apart from my family and friends, I am passionate about mountains!

Sport has always played a major part in my life and from a young age I tried to compete in every imaginable sport but NEVER long distance running! My passion for ultra-trails started in 2012 when a hiking trip in the Drakensberg set my soul alight and a new passion was born in an instant!

Running through the African Wilderness #InTheFootstepOfGiants is a once in lifetime opportunity I cannot miss.

People often ask why I run. Because I can, I love it, it quiets the noise, meet people, see new places and mountains, inspire others, make my wife and daughters proud and teach my girls about hard work and giving it your all, to build resilience for the really hard things in life and be the best I can be but above all I run to bring honor and glory to God and His Creation.

You don't have to run far, just  get outside or go for a walk, do a park run or road race or maybe even a Comrades Marathon. I support the Eden to Addo Wildlife Corridor Project and my aim is not only to raise enough money for my entry fee but also raise enough funds to help realise the Organisers dream so that future generations can continue to experience God's country.

THE DREAM: The Eden to Addo vision is based on the practical potential within the landscape connecting the Western and Eastern Cape of South Africa. But this vision is guided by a deeper question and dream: What if we could re-establish ancient elephant migration paths across the Cape, what then? What other wildlife will benefit and how would that restore the ecological balance of the region?
