Our annual Collegiate Girls' Schools Carols Presentation 2019 taking place on 8 November 2019 at the Feathermarket Centre, and the Facebook livestreaming aims to collect funds for CHOC (Childhood Cancer Foundation SA).
For those who are unable to attend the Carols Presentation, we are offering donors the opportunity to donate to this worthy cause via BackaBuddy.
CHOC is a non-profit organisation made up of caring, committed and passionate people who stand up for and support the well-being of children and teenagers diagnosed with cancer or life threatening blood disorders and their families.
CHOC aims to saves lives through early detection and making the journey of those who are affected by childhood cancer, less burdensome through the comprehensive support programmes that CHOC offer.
CHOC offers counselling, emotional support, accommodation close to treatment centres, transport to and from treatment centres, support groups, interactive ward activities as well as other activities run by volunteers, transport grants to ensure every child and caregiver can return for treatment, as well as food support.

CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation SA is the only organisation in South Africa that provides comprehensive countrywide support for children with cancer and other life-threatening blood disorders, and their families. CHOC has a head office in Johannesburg, six regional offices, two branches, and 12 accommodation facilities close to treatment centres. CHOC relies heavily on corporate sponsors, donations from groups or individuals wanting to make a difference in the lives of these little ones.
Their comprehensive support improves the welfare and quality of care of children with cancer and offers families a wide range of psychosocial services and practical support such as counselling, free accommodation, free transport and transport fund to ensure that no child abandons treatment due to the family not affording transport costs, food parcels as they recognise the financial difficulties families often face and parent to parent support groups. CHOC also plays a leading advocacy role and promotes early detection to save lives nationally.
