Claudia Marisa Da Silveira, a single mother of two and the sole bread winner providing for her beautiful boy and girl. Little did Claudia know that her loving little world would be turned around in 2023 when cancer came knocking at her door

My sister Claudia was hospitalized and rushed to the Instituto do curaçao in Maputo on the 10th November 2023 after experiencing dreadful abdominal pain and respiratory difficulty. We were hopeful that it is an acute event but as a family we were not aware of the shock that was to come. 1 day turned into 1 week, 1 week into a month and then 2 months into her admission with several tests being run and Claudia deteriorating our worst fears materialized. Claudia was diagnosed with Burkitts Lymphoma, an aggressive cancer with a high mortality rate if not treated early.

As a family we have exhausted our funds in catering for her lengthy hospital stay as well as initial chemotherapy and now fear the worst. Claudia is deteriorating daily and has currently lost vision in her left eye. She is currently admitted to hospital Privado in Maputo and requires further chemotherapy which is on hold until funds are raised. Claudia still has a fighting chance to beat cancer but her odds in winning this fight becomes slimmer with every second, minute and day that passes.

As a family we humbly appeal and request assistance to those capable to assist, every dollar goes a long way and will be fully extended to the treatment of Claudia for chemotherapy and all hospital accounts. Claudia will not win this battle alone but collectively we can be those soldiers that stood by her in her toughest times and maybe this battle will be won after all.
