Personal message

Chrisma is an amazing friend but she is terribly ill. Her time is limited if she does not receive proper medical help. She is disabled and diabetic. She is living in St Helena Bay in the West Coast.

This is a remote place without a hospital and has only 1 doctor. She had a hip replacement few years back that didn't went well. She is on crutches and the only place in town she can afford to stay is on the 1st floor. The building is not disabled friendly and it is a daily struggle with the crutches up and down the stairs that is very narrow.

The main thing that require urgent attention is her septic diabetic wounds on her legs and feet. She suffer from a mantle membrane rupture that is severe. her stomach area is about double its size causing her trouble breathing. She cannot eat, lay down to sleep. She more or less sit up sleeping. She needs wound care and antibiotics and an operation. She earns about R6500 per month and she pays R4800 rent that is without gas and electricity. She did try to make use of the clinic facility in town but they don't have the medicine, plaster and salves that is needed. A Few friends donate money to help but it is difficult to keep up with the expenses. If the funds can be raised she can be taken to a wound sister in Vredenburg that can make use of a wound drainage system. The costs of that is between R7000 and R10 000 per month depending on the amount of cartridges used.

Petrol money is needed to take her up and down to the next town 31.4 km x 2 per trip on a regular basis. She needs to see a specialist with regard to her rupture and the condition of her legs. Funds is needed to provide her with medicine, plasters and bandages. She really needs other accommodation. That will mean she needs transport to her workplace as she is now staying on top of her workplace.

If funds can be raised it can mean a different life for her. One without suffering and pain. She will be able to walk better, sleep properly and the infection count in her body will decrease.

If she can have an operation to heal the rupture the pain won't be so severe. Part of the problem with the pain and swelling on the stomach is that she does not have the right food to eat  and that does also cause bloating that increased the rupture problem.

Most of the funds will be used to work on the wound drainage and going to a specialist to heal the rupture. Funds also needs to be spend on more suitable food for her, other accommodation , petrol money to doctors and medicine.

She is detraining fast and if she can not receive help it will be the end soon. She is only 65 years old, she means a lot to many people, She is a pillar that deserves to be around a little bit longer.

Myself don't have that much media coverage only Facebook and I will need help to get to people that are prepared to help and to donate for her.

I have an amazing friend named Chrisma who is severely ill and needs urgent medical help.

Living in a remote place without a hospital, she struggles daily with her disabilities, including a failed hip replacement. Her diabetic wounds are severe, and her stomach issues make breathing difficult. Despite earning R6500/month, high rent and medical expenses are overwhelming. The local clinic lacks necessary supplies.

Funds are crucial for her wound care, antibiotics, and an operation. Costs for a specialized wound drainage system in Vredenburg range from R7000 to R10,000/month.

Petrol money is needed for regular trips to the next town for medical appointments. She also requires funds for a specialist, suitable food, better accommodation, and general medical expenses.

Raising funds can transform her life, alleviating pain and allowing her to walk better. An operation to heal the rupture could significantly reduce her pain. Without assistance, her health is deteriorating rapidly.

At 65, she is a pillar in many lives and deserves more time.

Limited to Facebook, I seek help to reach compassionate individuals willing to donate for her urgent medical needs.
