Starter Business Assistance Request Campaign

Greetings to all,

My name is Wes Green. My wife, Megan & I are endeavouring to start a new business, but in order to do so require some much needed assistance. Reason for us wanting to go in this direction is our belief that we have a product unlike anything on the market that will sell. We would start off working from home & eventually build enough capital to open our own store. At the moment we don't have the means to pursue such a venture purely on the basis of a lack of funds. We would ideally need a fully functioning kitchen & preparation space. Our double volume oven which we would need a housing block built for is in storage together with all the necessary kitchenware. Another major item of utmost importance would be a small delivery van to distribute the product. Getting this business started would give us the financial independence & job security we all strive for in an already unpredictable economy. One might be asking themselves how is it that I'm requesting help. Never thought I'd find myself in this position but here I am. So where do I start, as I said my name is Wes Green, 45 & married with 3 rescue dogs who my wife & I love to death which makes our situation even more heart breaking. During Covid our family business of 28yrs took quite a hit being in the sporting field we couldn't maintain it & had to liquidate. Work was difficult to come by & the inevitable outcome not being able to pay our rent lead to the loss of our home. Cos I hadn't worked for 3 months finding another rental was proving more & more difficult with the bank statements being the default factor. So with nowhere to go we had no choice but to put all our belongings into storage except for what we could pack in the car with us which wasn't very much. Majority of space was taken up by our dog's bedding, but that's where we slept. My wife suffers with back problems & a heart condition which requires medication so I'm constantly worrying about her health. However it was myself that ended up in the hospital after suffering an acute asthma attack. My wife got me to Fish Hoek Emergency just before passing out. I woke in Groote Schuur ICU the following day where I spent the next three days strapped to a bed with a tube down my throat with nothing to do but think about what could have been. Four days later I was discharged & we decided to get out of the city. A few affordable bnb's here & there is all we could manage with the assistance of my folks. During this time though my father's health started to decline & a fall off of a step ladder landed him in hospital. He passed shortly afterwards. We were in Oudtshoorn at the time having repairs done to the car that'd allow us to get back to Cape Town. We ran into car trouble again 170km from Cape Town when the head gaskets blew & then we knew we were well & truly stuck. We managed to get a roof over our heads, but that's about it. No stove, no fridge, no appliances or cutlery & a non running car. We're sleeping on a double bed with no mattress, just a couple of blankets. At the moment we can't afford to get our belongings out of storage & transported up to us with which we'd be able to at least start something. Right now I just hope & pray for a little assistance that'll help return us to some level of society. I'm hoping that with your assistance we'll be able to get our business off & running which at the end of the day will allow me to repay my mother for all the support she so unselfishly afforded us.
