Support My Pursuit of Veterinary Studies at the University of Namibia

Dear Supporter(s),

I am writing to you with an unwavering commitment to my passion for veterinary medicine and a fervent aspiration to become a veterinarian specializing in livestock and wildlife care. As I prepare to commence my Bachelor of Veterinary Medicine Studies at the esteemed University of Namibia (UNAM), I humbly seek your support and assistance to embark on this transformative journey.

I applied to the University of Pretoria (UP) twice, but unfortunately, my application was denied both times. However, UNAM recognized my potential and offered me a place on the course. If I am unable to take advantage of this opportunity next year, I may not get another chance like this again.

My journey to secure admission at UNAM encountered an unexpected series of events. I had initially intended to submit my UNAM application following unfortunate news from UP. Regrettably, a misjudgement of timing led me to submit the application after the late submission period. Despite this setback, UNAM allowed me to proceed with my application. At first, my application attempt was met with a rejection. However, in early December, I received news that I had been shortlisted and invited for an interview. Although the meeting didn't unfold as ideally as I had hoped, I was thrilled to learn in the subsequent week that I had been accepted. Owing to the lateness of my application, I was unable to pursue bursaries. Fortunately, my father discovered BackaBuddy, providing me with an opportunity to share my story with you today.

My academic journey commenced with a BSc degree in Agricultural Science, focusing on Animal Science, which has profoundly deepened my understanding of livestock production, health, and welfare. This educational path has ignited an insatiable desire within me to contribute significantly to the animal health industry.

Your support will be instrumental in covering crucial expenses such as registration fees, tuition, accommodation, books, and transport (including fuel), allowing me to focus wholeheartedly on my education and achieving academic excellence at UNAM.

Upon completing my studies at UNAM, my goal is to dedicate my expertise to enhancing animal welfare and sustainability. I envision myself providing compassionate care, researching disease prevention strategies, and fostering responsible animal husbandry in both domestic, livestock, and wildlife settings.

I firmly believe that a veterinarian plays a pivotal role as a guardian of animal health and welfare, a public health advocate, and a contributor to environmental conservation. 

Your support will not only aid my education but will also contribute to bridging the gap in veterinary care accessibility for underserved communities, improving animal welfare, and fostering a more inclusive veterinary healthcare system in Namibia.

In an ideal scenario, I envision securing a sponsorship and/or job with an animal health company that would offer financial support for my studies in exchange for committing to work for them during my studies and/or upon graduation. This commitment would involve repaying my study debt through dedicated service to the company over several years post-graduation.
