I have always had a bond with animals for as long as I can remember, and with the abuse and neglect of animals that I see around the world, I have a hole in my heart. I cannot save the world, but if I can make just a few dogs happy, safe and comfortable, then I am sure going to try. But I can't do it alone ...
As an outdoor hiker and nature lover, I have decided to walk 15km in the Discovery Walk the Talk on 22 July inorder to raise funds for Barking Mad - a exceptional facility for wonderful animals based in Midrand, Jhb. You can browse their website at www.barkingmad.co.za and find out more about the selfless work that is done there for abused, neglected, unwanted, orphaned and abandoned dogs. The real heroes are the people that work there and I envy them in so many ways.
I am asking you to help me in this worthy cause, by donating whatever it is you can and help Barking Mad keep these animals happy, safe and healthy so they can be adopted one day, perhaps by you. My goal is to raise R12 000 ... let's make it happen ... together.
