As part of a Youth Day Initiative, Bishops Rugby teams will embark on a 24hour cycle challenge to raise funds for the VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy in Langa.

VUSA creates social upliftment for primary school children in the Langa community through a structured academic, sporting and extra mural programme. For more information, please watch this short clip:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDN8hXpOEj0

Team Includes : Gray Fogarty, Jermaine Lwande, Joe Ruiz. Josh Carnell, Ilyaaz Arnold

Each team will be captained by an international / successful Old Diocesan player.  

Dasch Barber (Germany) – He is an English-born South African who went on to play 18 Test matches for Germany. Dasch was a dynamic hooker in the extremely strong Bishops 2006 side, acting as an extra loose forward and popping up as a support player all over the park. That 2006 side defeated Paul Roos, Boland Landbou, Paarl Boys, beat all Southern Suburbs rivals and drew with Paarl Gym – and Dasch was a key part of it all. He represented False Bay 1st XV for many years before getting the Germany call up, eligible through family heritage. He represented Heidelberger in the German top league.
