Personal message

During 2012, a parent, Lerika du Plessis, phoned us desperately looking for a tutor for their son, Gian, who was just diagnosed with Autism and they did not know what to do or to expect. They then became part of our family. Through one to one tutoring by our highly skilled tutors and the support of the other Parents, Gian started showing remarkable progress and his parents got the support, they so desperately needed. 

 

In 2015 Lerika & Deon du Plessis, started the campaign “Running for Gian”, running the Old Mutual Two Oceans marathon, raising funds for our organization. In 2016 we were fortunate to become an official charity partner of the Old Mutual Two Oceans, with our first 25 runners running on our behalf and raising funds.  In 2017, Gian’s amazing sister Leanè started running the fun run for her brother and Popcorn kidz, getting a few kids from her school to join in 2018. We are very privilege to be part of this amazing race again this year, with our biggest group of runners. 

 

Through this journey, we met so many great people and families, helping us making a difference and creating awareness for autism and downs syndrome. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
