2 years ago I decided it is time to embrace my love for running again and decided that this will be the year I run the 2 Oceans half marathon again. Exactly 14 years after my first one. The year I turn 40! This came with a few obstacles along the way. Running injuries, the passing of my mom to just mention two. But this made me even more determined to do this. But this year I wanted to do something different, I wanted to run for a purpose, and decided that I will do this for charity.

4 years ago I met an amazing family who is a perfect example of what family life is about.
They are involved in their children’s lives, embrace every opportunity to help them grow into well rounded individuals, teach them about God and how He works miracles in their lives.
Let’s meet the family,
Deon- father and husband, the navigator who takes control and stay calm and plays with the kids.
Lerika- mother and wife, the enforcer who always stays positive and passionately embrace everything her family do. She finds beauty in small thing in life and is so thankful for every small milestone reached.
Leane- the sister and daughter, the most honest and passion driven little girl who will always stand up for what is right and wrong.
Gian- the son and brother that is brave and always faces his fears.
Gian is autistic but for no reason at all does this ‘label’ makes him disabled! He is a super hero who will jump into the river, play with the boys and get tackled, eat with a fork and knife at a formal dinner, even if it is chips! Since normal is a label that is overrated, Gian is a true example of what a child can accomplish with support and love.

For this reason I decided to run for Popcorn kids, a non-profit organization that support kids with down syndrome and autism.

Please help me raise money for Popcorn Kidz so they can assist many other kids who needs help.
If only 50 people donates R100 I can reach my goal of R5000.
