Personal message

On 10 December 2016 myself and a few friends will have sight of a few hidden treasures of Table Mountain, where we await a knee-breaking 35km, 65km and 100km trail race, known as the Ultra Trail Cape Town. Not only will we be doing it for ourselves but we will be participating in this event in aid of the Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust. The Red Cross Children’s Hospital Trust is an independent, non-profit organisation that relies on the benevolence of donors to realise its aim in advancing child healthcare.

Entrenched in our busy lives we often neglect the gifts we’ve been granted. The magnitude of the race is therefore an ideal opportunity to reflect and give back to our community. Having done many road races before this will be my longest trail race- so I’m really nervous…
