Personal message

My name is Ara Bhabha and I'm the Producer of Tumi - a UCT Honours documentary, which focuses on dreams and their relationship with our innermost, repressed identities. Our documentary explores the story of Tumi, a mother, domestic worker and dreamer. Through the exploration of her dreams at night, we probe into greater issues of selfhood, identity politics and trauma. Ultimately, the film is Tumi's attempt to understand her dreams, how they have become embedded within the fabric of who she is, and to reclaim herself within them.

Unfortuntely, whilst filming in Phillipi, our crew was robbed during an armed hijacking. As a result, we have lost important footage and equipment, and production has been halted. In order to continue, we need your assistance through funding, to complete this film.
