- Cause: The VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy Trust
This is the third year the VUSA 24 Hour Cycle Challenge will be taking place. Staff, learners, parents and OD's of Bishops Diocesan College will cycle in teams for 24 hours to raise funds for the VUSA Rugby and Learning Academy.
VUSA is a registered NPO and PBO that seeks to transform the lives of primary school children in Langa, an under-resourced township community in Cape Town. Our mission is to provide structured sport and academic programmes, (rugby, English, Maths, homework, recreational outings, and a hot daily meal), for children who need it the most.
VUSA currently supports over 1,200 children each week, offering them a safe space, daily care, and positive role models. Rugby teaches them essential life skills like discipline, teamwork, respect, and punctuality, while our academic support and weekly pop-up library provide a better understanding of their school work.
