Abandoned, desolate, and without hope. This is how the story for most of these children from the Nuba Mountains begin. BUT, as the slogan on a very dear friends WhatsApp states, It’s time to start writing a new end.

Through the S4J Children’s project, in 2022 focused specifically on the Kandaka orphan school in the Nuba Mountains of Sudan, we want to, with others, SAVE, RESTORE, and DIGNIFY.

It IS possible that as an athlete, running the 2022 Comrades Marathon by sharing this vision with others, you could raise funds to help:

• Basir, whose father died of civil war and then abandoned by her mother.
• Firihal, whose father died when she was very young, also during civil war.
• Osman, who were brought by the Kandaka orphanage at the age of 7, with no hope or school.
• Zinaba, who father died when she was very young. Her mother couldn’t afford to have her educated.

We want to take hands with the team in the Nuba Mountains to make a significant impact where it matters most. If you’re NOT an athlete, you could still make an IMPACT by supporting this cause on behalf of the athlete, or become a fundraising advocate for this cause. We will work with those who are willing and able to make an impact.
