As Mamelani's director I have taken on the challenge, yet again, of doing the Cape Cycle tour (formally known as the Argus)! I am excited for the big day - to be cheered along by all the wonderful people who come out in their thousands to motivate and encourage the riders.

This year, I am going to need your support too! I am riding to raise funds for Mamelani's Community Health Programme, an innovative intervention that works with unemployed mothers to ensure that they have the support they need to make the right choices and take action to improve the their own health and wellbeing - as well as the wellbeing of their families and those around them.

Mamelani s Community Health programme continues to inspire me - as the hundreds of women who have participated by MacVx" href="#">share stories of courage and of the brave steps they have taken to make changes in their lives. The Community Champions Programme works with women who show leadership, supporting them to build their projects. I am consistently amazed by the resilience and strength that these women show in particularly difficult situations.

I call on you to support me on my ride to play your part in ensuring that this good work has the resources it needs to continue.
