My boy, Raka, is 3 years old and has recently been diagnosed with Ehrlichiosis and Bicytopenia (where two bloodlines are being suppressed by a tick bite parasite) which is destroying his bone marrow.

There is not a lot of research on this disease and the veterinary specialist are doing all they can. Raka recently had a blood transfusion to build up his strength and a bone marrow aspiration.

Current vet bills are at R21 000.00 and there is another appointment on 03/02/2024 where full diagnostics will be done again to establish if the medications are working. The fees will be about the same as his previous visit to the specialist and treatment can take up to four months. Raka will have to see the specialist multiple times and get tested frequently to monitor his blood count recovery.

Worst case scenario, his blood count drops all the way and he will become too weak to do anything.

This is a very difficult disease but so far Raka has been handling everything so well! It pains us to know that he is currently not healthy but looking at him, he is filled with so much life in him!

We do not want money to stand in the way of the chance he deserves hence we decided to start this fundraiser to do everything we possibly can for Raka!

Raka is our flip-flop thief, our 3am barking at trees boy, our slobber machine and our baby boy.

Even the specialist called him a big baby.
