Hi all,

As you know I recently received a rather unexpected and uninvited surprise in the form of an aggressive, rugby-ball-sized tumour (Ewings Sarcoma) in my pelvis. This news came as quite a shock to myself and my family (especially considering my age) but I am staying positive and am adamant that I am going to beat this thing. As many of you may know I have had my fair share of close encounters with death and if the leopard, rhino, elephant, lion or raging crocodile-filled river couldn’t take me out, neither will cancer.

I have started an aggressive chemotherapy regimen already with the aim of surgery/radiation down the road, followed by months more of subsequent chemotherapy. I am also using all holistic techniques I can find (breathwork, juicing and diet, medicinal mushrooms, CBD oil etc.) in conjunction with this.

We recently spoke to the oncologist and, while he is also positive that cure is possible and we are striving for it as our goal, he has estimated that this treatment will go on for about a year.

He walked us through the medical costs and pointed out that medical aid might not be enough to cover all the treatment we are in for.

I am also in the position where I will be man-down from the intensive chemo and therefore unable to earn an income for next year.

Although this is not in my or my families nature, in desperate times you need to lean on your support network for help. We are asking those who can to contribute whatever is possible to help alleviate the financial strain during this year. No donation is too small, and every gesture of kindness will make a meaningful impact on my journey to recovery.

Brendons Cancer Battle Campaign

Hi everyone,

I recently discovered a sizable pelvic tumor, and though it was a shock, I'm staying positive. I've begun aggressive chemotherapy, aiming for surgery/radiation and more chemo.
