The neonatal unit at Charlotte Maxeke Johannesburg Academic Hospital admits up to 80 newborn babies a month. Many of these little ones are premature with some as small as 500g, the same weight as a block of butter! Children are precious and deserve environments that improve their health.

 

A team of paediatric doctors will be running the TOYOTA WARRIOR RACE on the 30 November 2019 to raise funds to revive the Breastfeeding Room at CMJAH. We want to create a safe and warm space away from home where new mothers can feel comfortable and relaxed while they express their milk to feed their newborns.

 

Please help us refresh this room to give these mums a place where they can escape the stress and focus on being mothers to their new babies!

 

We need YOUR HELP to renovate our breastfeeding room and make it feel less like a spending time in the hospital. New couches, a few soft pillows and some fresh paint will go a long way towards this project. Having a sick newborn is stressful and emotional for mothers and families. That is why we, with YOUR HELP, will be sweating at the TOYOTA WARRIOR RACE to create a better environment for neonates and breastfeeding mothers.
