Awande is my 14 year old Step daughter. I got to know her when she was 11 years when i started dating her single mother. Over these years she has been the easiest child to raise,a young respectful and pleasant human being. She extends these qualities among her peers, the community, teachers and any person lucky to meet her.
She is one of the smartest academically , she has been receiving academic achievements and accolades since Grade:1 all the way through to Grade:7. Always in the top 3 of her class.
She just completed grade 8 at a very good private school. She has also excelled there as well receiving further academic awards.
The reason for this campaign to give her a helping hand to further push her studies at the school she is in, further her growth and aspirations to be pediatrician.
Her mom and myself found the school for her, a very good school, by this time it was past the scholarship exam, she only took her acceptance test which she aced.
The school fee is by norms a little steep, but we had faith that we will work hard and manage her tuition for atleast one year and then she could take a scholarship exam for the Grade 9 academic year. Needless to say, our plans have gone horribly wrong and the year has been a financial disaster and to date we haven't recovered.
Her school account remains overdue, and on the verge of termination. She has fallen in love with the school, happy with the environment and the school's principles to make them not only great scholars but decent and helpful human beings. There is also a once in a lifetime overseas trip planned by the school for next year, she is so looking forward to it. It would totally devastate her should she not continue at the school and miss out on the trip.
She has noticed some struggles through the year but we did best to push on and hide most so she could remain focused, which she was able to. We hope to be back on our feet soon to continue supporting her dreams and goals.
Any pledge to assisting Awande realize her full potential would be very welcome and appreciated, i know she'll be forever grateful to everyone, that's just how she is.
