Ashleigh is a bright, hardworking young man who has completed - and comfortably passed - 2 years of his Bachelor of Business Science in Analytics Degree at the University of Cape Town. Unfortunately his mom - our domestic worker - is unable to afford his tuition fees.Ashleigh missed out on a scholarship opportunity in the USA because of the Covid pandemic.
Being able to graduate would not only change his life, but that of his mom and 2 younger sisters. They are originally from Zimbabwe, so he doesn’t qualify for any of the financial support grants for SA students.
The family owes ZAR26000 (arrears plus interest) in outstanding fees and the initial payment required for 2024 registration is ZAR36000. This ZAR62000 needs to be paid by 2 February in order for Ashleigh to register for this year. If funds are not raised in time he will defer his studies and the money will be kept for future enrollment and tuition. Funds raised will be used to pay his tuition for the next 2 years and any excess could be used towards his sister’s school fees.
