Hi! Thank you for taking the time to read our campaign page.
My son AJ was diagnosed with Mycoplasma Pneumonia in June 2023. He was healthy and vibrant 28 year old young man from the Free State before his life was stolen by a bacteria. His heart stopped 3 times while he was hospitalized. He spent 80 days in ICU of which he was ventilated for about 70 days.
This bacteria caused damage to his lungs and he now has lung fibroses, respiratory and heart failure. He needs oxygen 24 hours a day and will die if the oxygen flow is interrupted. Load shedding is life threatening to him and the refill of oxygen cylinders is very expensive as we need 2 cylinders per day if normal load shedding applies.
He is prone to infection and is hospitalized often. This month alone he was hospitalized twice. Your donation will help us cover medical costs, the refill of cylinders or help us find a sustainable solution for load shedding and making it possible for him to have the oxygen devices that he needs desperately to keep breathing and not worrying where his next breath will come from.
