Personal message

Entering the Cape Town Cycle Tour and being a part of the Ride for a Child campaign is an absolute honour to do. 

I believe in the humble, honest, humanitarian work that Home of Hope does, as they are changing lives daily, and I would love for us to be a part of the change.

This year I have the privilege to ride for my buddy Jade. Jade joined Home of Home last year. She attends a special needs school called Amathemba to meet her educational needs.

Jade faces challenges associated with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, which is permanent brain damage caused by prenatal exposure to alcohol. 

Despite all the challenges that she faces every day, Jade is a sweet, loving, helpful and responsible little girl who loves to knit and sew as a hobby. I am so fortunate to raise money for her.

As my chosen little buddy, I would like to reach my R12000.00 target for Home of Hope to provide Jade with the best opportunities possible.

All proceeds from my fundraising efforts will go directly towards Jade's education and daily needs.

Home of Hope

Home of Hope was started in 2005, and we are an NPO that cares for abandoned and abused children and children with Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD – permanent brain damage caused by pre-natal exposure to alcohol). We are a registered place of safety and we have 19 children in our long term community based foster care. 

The organisation also caters for the special educational needs of children suffering from FAS (Foetal Alcohol Syndrome) and neurological challenges, in our Amathemba Learning Centre. There are currently 37 children at our Amathemba Learning Centre.
