Personal message

On Sunday, 13 October, a team of adventurous Accelerators will be running the 21.1 kilometers that make up a half marathon with the aim of raising money for Afrika Tikkun.

Some Accelerators have already committed to this distance - you can meet the team below. If any other Accelerators feel that they can rise to this challenge, please let us know and we'll add you to the team below!

Meet the team:
Kristina: although a mountain-biking enthusiast at heart, she has decided to try her hand (and feet!) at running.

Juliet: a Half Iron Lady veteran, Juliet is no stranger to running. A half marathon? Pfff, she'll do it in her sleep!

Callum: his first half was the Knysna Half - now that the running bug has bitten, he's Un.Stopp.Able!

Roan: he's already done Pietermaritzburg to Durban - this'll be a walk in the park for him!

Marcel: never underestimate finance - they have wings on their feet!

Bert: never underestimate the French either - how do you think they stay in shape so well with all the fine food their country has?!

Fran: although she has the tendency to look like a tomato on the move when she runs, she's excited to be doing another half!

Matthias: Swift and silent, another Frenchie keen to prove that they are a great nation of runners!

Nicl: another long legger from Finance - they are DUSTING the field in terms of who is committed and running for a good cause!

Afrika Tikkun

Charity Default Logo

Afrika Tikkun (AT) was founded in 1994 with the goal of developing and uplifting young people in disadvantaged communities resident in the Republic of South Africa. With like-minded partners, Afrika Tikkun aims to end child poverty and youth unemployment through a holistic approach that begins in early childhood and ends with productive adults accessing the economy. Our approach provides all-inclusive care (nutrition, health and social) services and helps SA’s youth achieve success with a model called Cradle-to-Career 360°, which has earned Afrika Tikkun recognition for being one of the most impactful organisations in South Africa. We operate from four centres in Gauteng and one in Cape Town.
