Please sponsor me and contribute to a worthy cause - helping raise awareness for rare diseases.
Pedalling for PompeWe have decided to enter the 94.7 Cycle Challenge again this years to create awareness of Pompes disease and other rare illnesses - a cause very close to our hearts. This will be the second year at the race for us but it's still likely to be a challenge, our motivation is little Juan du Plessis and other Pompe disease sufferers who don't have the option of quitting their illness when it becomesunbearable. In 2012 we were with 5th highest fund raising last year with roughly 125 riders and are hoping to double the number of participants as well as the donations raised! Please only consider entering if you are medically fit to ride - we don't want any injuries or life threatening incidents en route and there are plenty of other ways to support the cause if you're unable to cycle. Moral support, race day cheerleaders, kit sponsors, loaning of bikes or equipment if you have extra and getting the word out about our cause are other ways to help and would be greatly appreciated :)

What began as a simple challenge amongst friends and family to raise awareness of Pompe Disease using the Momentum 94.7 Cycle Challenge as a platform, has evolved into charity initiative which seeks to help as many children and adults with rare conditions. Pedalling 4 Pompe is the main fundraising event for the Rare Disease Society of South Africa.
