Something that lies very close to my heart and that I'm passionate about is mountain biking. Something else which is also close to my heart is helping those in need. I found something which allows me to merge these 2 passions...!
I am cycling the 97.4 Road race challenge in aid of Heneka Haven! Heneka Haven is linked to the Doxa Deo East Church and is a home caring for abandoned children with special needs.
This will be my first 97.4 road race and I will take on this event (fittingly) on my trusty Mountain bike.
Please join me in supporting this worthy cause by sponsoring me through a donation... Every bit helps!

Haneka Haven

What is Heneka Haven? Based in Pretoria, and linked to the Doxa Deo East Church, Heneka Haven is a home caring for abandoned children with special needs. The biological parents usually abandon these children due to their severe mental and physical disabilities, which include being blind and deaf, suffering from epilepsy and a number of other serious conditions. Some are also HIV positive with a generally short life expectancy. History of the charity? Heneka Haven has existed for about ten years, at present we’ve got 11 children with us. What will the funds be used for? Our day to day expenses are very high, all of our babies is on nappies, due to their disabilities. We use more or less between 80 and 90 nappies per day, 2 of our bigger babies is on young adult nappies, which is very expensive. Due to their low immune systems they get sick very quick, so our medical expenses are very high.
