Personal message

Mr Ace Molate is a 54-year-old man who cycles to work daily from Soweto to Houghton, and arrives in time to begin his working day at 07h00.

Ace has been in the employ of HospiceWits for 18 years as a cleaner, and last year, he decided to champion our Non-Profit Organisation by participating in the Telkom 947 Cycle Challenge. Ace will be participating again this year to raise much-needed funds for patients with life-threatening illnesses who cannot afford to contribute towards the cost of their treatment.

What makes our Superhero so special is that in March 2016, Ace was involved in an accident. A car knocked him off his bike on his way to work, and he sustained fractures to his arm and leg, as well as lots of cuts and abrasions. The tenacious man spent six weeks recuperating prior to being able to return to work. In no time he was back on his bicycle and cycling to work again!

Just prior to the 2016 race, having read his story, 947 conducted a live interview with him, after which they announced that a beautiful Raleigh Revenio racing bike was being donated to him by a listener to the radio station! He was absolutely delighted with the news.

We are asking you to support our very special Superhero by sponsoring his race this year, or a portion thereof, and at the same time invest in the dignity of patients who cannot afford the cost of treatment for life-threatening illnesses.
