On March 10th, 2013, I will be riding in the Cape Argus Pick ‘n Pay Cycle Tour, which is the largest timed cycling event in the world. Attracting in excess of 35 000 cyclists from around the globe each year, this prestigious event is definitely a unique experience for participants and spectators alike.  Based in Cape Town, the Cycle Tour represents 109 km of some of the most scenic spots in the world.  I watched from the sidelines last year and this year I've decided to do it.  Instead of just riding for myself, I have decided to ride for a local charity, Imibala.

In my opinion, education is key in helping South Africa strive to be a great country.  Imibala’s main focus is providing a primary education for children in schools serving the underprivileged communities of the Helderberg area which is located just outside of Cape Town.

Since its inception in 2002, Imibala has facilitated more than 10,400 sponsorships of primary school learners. In 2011 alone over 2,100 children in the Helderberg Basin were sponsored.
