Somewhere close to you there is a boy who doesn't have a father figure in his life.  His father either passed away or walked away from him and his mother.  This boy most probably feels fatherless, abandoned and tormented.  Without a father figure in his life this boy runs the risk of seeking a father, acceptance, belonging and peace in the wrong places.

The Character Company exists to reach these boys and provide to them a good father figure in the form of a value driven male mentor.  The Character Company and it's partners exists to address the problem of fatherlessness, abandonment and torment among boys and young men in South Africa.

That is what this fundraising and awareness event is all about.  

Apart from busting belly fat we are aiming at busting Fatherlesness, Abandonment and Torment (FAT) amongst boys who do not have father figures.

We are busting Fatherlessness by taking up our role as MEN and MENtors.

We are busting Abandonment by taking the fatherless under our wings and giving them identity.

We are busting Torment by leading boys on a path of forgiveness and sonship to God.

The Character Company is a long term mentorship programme for young boys growing up with absent fathers - raising boys to be good men.  Other than the weekly and monthly programmes, holiday camps and “one-on-one” intervention we also focus on support for single mothers and raising awareness of the impact of absent fathers on our families and society.
