Need help with University fees Campaign

Hey Everyone, 

I trust this message finds you well. My name is Precious Sorota, a 23 year old young woman, born and bred in Tembisa, and I am a final year student at Wits University. I am studying towards a BA degree, majoring in Psychology. In 2023, I was defunded by NSFAS and that resulted in me not having funding for the academic year. I currently owe Wits R32 666,58c and I am pleading with you to help me raise these funds for myself so that I can be able to go back to school this year, as I am left with just 6 months to complete my degree. 

My journey has not been a smooth one, I have changed degrees, there was a point in my life where I had found so much comfort in giving up that I would allow this dark cloud of deep sadness and anxiety to close me in. I have attempted taking my own life with the aim of making the pain and the noise stop. In 2022, my family and I were evicted in a very painful way from our home, where everyone was watching and we were feeling so helpless with our things being tossed around. That left us homeless and I continued falling into this dark hole of depression. I had my wake up call in 2023, where I was in the brink of losing everything that I had become, and I decided that it was high time I stopped feeling sorry for myself and fetched my life because time was not waiting for me to stop being sad. I am happy to let everyone know that I am in a much better space mentally, even though things aren't looking so rosy in my life, and I have started utilising the counselling services at school with the aim of working on my mental health. This has also helped me in improving my grades, as I have produced 4/6 distinctions with an average of 70%+. I understand that dreams delayed are not dreams denied, hence I am asking you to help me fight and make my dream of being a Neuropsychologist in a few years a possibility by donating towards my fees. 

I am required to pay atleast 50% of the debt before I can register and I am asking you to help me reach my goal by donating any amount that you have towards covering my fees. Thank you for taking your time to read my story and for believing in me. Together we can make this dream a reality.
