An Artist needs you Campaign
AN ARTIST NEEDS YOU; WILL YOU HELP?
Hello, I am Odwa Sithunzela. I'm a young, ambitious Fine Art student at the University of Witwatersrand, and I need your assistance.
Since I was 12 years old, my dream has always been to become an artist. I put in a lot of effort throughout my high school career to push myself to this point because I had that objective in mind.
The COVID-19 pandemic severely impacted my family in 2020. Its effects led to financial problems that have continued into this year. Thanks to my mom's savings, I was able to register and pay off my loan for the first year. Staying with a single parent and having 3 siblings, each with their own academic ambitions, made it more difficult to settle my expenses. That became clear in my second year, 2023.
Despite the stress and disadvantages caused by my personal condition, I made every effort to maximize my educational experience. I took part in the Dare IDMS Big Sis/Bro Mentorship program, a volunteering initiative for the Johannesburg Art Fair. I work on both the design and photography teams at Black Intellectual Praxes.
Going into my third year, I am excited to continue my efforts and work within the councils that I am now a member of, but I will only be able to do so if I can register.
I need to pay off my debt before I can register for this academic year. Since first year, I've been looking for a scholarship to help with my tuition, but I've been unable to locate one. I'm still suffering with the same issue.
I am incredibly passionate about my degree and completing it would mean everything to me. I am in severe need of your support to settle my debt, register, and continue my studies so that I can accomplish my ambition.
Registration closes on the 9th of February. Any contribution would be greatly appreciated. May God continue to bless you abundantly.
