CMO Warrior McGreer Campaign
Meet McGreer, a brave 11-month-old Scottish Terrier. I got to know this little one through the Scottish Terrier Network. McGreer’s case is close to my heart, he suffers from the same condition as my Scottie Boy, Spock – CMO also known as Lions Jaw.What is CMO? Craniomandibular Osteopathy (CMO) is an inherited defect which affects the formation of bones in young dogs, particularly the jaw. Cases where the jaw joints fuse carry a poor prognosis and patients are often euthanized.
So not only does this little one have CMO, he also has a heart condition called, Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy - HCM.
What is HCM? Hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) is a rare form of heart muscle disease in dogs. It is characterized by a thickening of the walls of the heart, which leads to an inadequate amount of blood being pumped out into the body when the heart contracts during the systolic phase (pushing blood out into the arteries).
Because of his HCM he is in urgent need of a heart operation, without this operation his life expectancy will only be between 9 – 18 months. I want to help his mom raise funds, the financial impact has been hard on them, and the road ahead will not be an easy one. They are willing to do whatever it takes to help McGreer, but because I understand the financial impact (as I've been down this road twice) I want to help them raise funds. Please open your hearts to this much-loved little boy, McGreer.
Time is very limited as they are literally waiting for the call from Onderstepoort Veterinary Hospital to confirm the date. Thanks for taking the time to read this, his mommy and daddy appreciates all the prayers, love and support.
