Fulufhelo (Living Hope)

Fulufhelo (which means living hope in Venda) is a non-profit organisation (NPO) formed in 2010 by a group of 8 GIBS MBA students partnering with community leaders in the Ivory Park. The organisation was formed to undertake socioeconomic projects in that community.

To expand the scope of these projects, the board of Fulufhelo decided to reconfigure the organisation to act as a conduit between the surrounding disadvantaged communities and GIBS students, the GIBS alumni network and friends outside of GIBS. Working as this conduit, Fulufhelo has implemented a number of important projects in the areas of healthcare, support for early childhood development, computer training, life skills coaching and general support to the needy and destitute in Ivory Park and Kaarlfontein areas.
