Juan Pacemaker Campaign

Juan is a VW Beetle mechanic. He has been working on these air-cooled-type engines since he was 14 years old, in Pretoria North. Recently I met Juan as he checked a non-starter dead beetle, I bought in Pretoria to drive it down to the Western Cape. His service was so efficient, and the car drove beautifully all the way to the Western Cape. As we all know, Juan relies very much on his ability to fix beetles for his livelihood, and an artisan as he is, should ideally be up there with the best Mercedes Benz mechanics in the country. Juan recently found out he needs a pacemaker for his heart and can’t seem to find a government institution that will assist him. The cost of the operation is R300k, he said, so that’s what I hope we can raise to help him. If not this, at least perhaps reach out to see if there is someone who can help him.
