MEDICINE FOR JANINE Campaign

Janine is my friend who is 50 years old and has been confined to a wheelchair since birth due to lack of oxygen to her brain.

I feel the need to help her because no human should have to be turned away and not receive chronic meds to make her more comfortable no matter what.

From the age of 9 to 17 she had 27 operations to try and help her be more mobile. There is so much more to her life story, but she has shown me extreme courage and strength by living each day and not giving up. She is also a mother but that is a story for another day.

She has now developed chronic pain and has also been diagnosed with High blood pressure and Congested Heart Failure this on top of not being able to walk making it almost near impossible to move.

She has worked for years at various Centre's doing Customer Service / Customer Care/ Debt Collections and more but due to her chronic illnesses she has had to give up work and her independence.

She always had Medical Aid and since having to give up work she became a Government Hospital Patient and used to get all her medication through the clinic.

Recently when collecting her meds she was told SORRY no more meds because the Government can't afford to supply chronic medication to her anymore.

She went for 3 weeks without Medication and in that process her pain has become very severe. She has been to a private Doctor last week and for her to be able to at least function will cost R1200 per month.

She is in the process of looking for a work from home position, but it is not easy as there are so many scammers out there and she needs to be comfortable to work.

She is appealing to companies or individuals to please be so kind as to help her to get the money together to cover her monthly medication (R1 200 per month).
