Help Relocate a Palestinian Family Campaign
My friend Ahmed was once someone who raised funds for and cared for poor families in the Gaza strip, Palestine. He had a great job, and he was hopeful for a good life. He would give out clothing to kids for Eid, stock families up with food, oil, and domestic products if they couldn't afford it. Since the war started, he and his family have lost their homes, their livelihood, and all their money and belongings.Ahmed is currently living in a vehicle with other men, while his wife, sister and mother live in a room with 30 other people – no privacy and no guarantee of safety. They are surviving on bread and water, all while freezing without blankets or clothing as temperatures are plummeting. He is losing his will to live, and needs to relocate into another country, the easiest and closest being Egypt, until the war is over.
This fund aims to raise the necessary funds to move Ahmed and his family into Egypt so they can find a place to stay as refugees, until things are safe enough for them to move back. In the time that he is in Egypt, Ahmed plans to work to send money to people in his community in Palestine, who are now displaced and scattered. He will then move back to Palestine once safe, to rebuild his life.
The current cost to legally relocate one individual to Egypt is $5,000 (verified by a number of individuals on the ground in Palestine and individuals in Egypt). While exorbitant and unbelievable, it's simply the reality. Our first goal is to raise R300,000/ $17,000. This will be enough to move three people into Egypt, as a start, which will most likely be Ahmed's wife, mother and sister. Thereafter, we'll try and raise additional funds for him and his father. Any additional funds will cover BackABuddy fees (7%+VAT).
Please consider helping Ahmed and his family relocate into Egypt, and saving the lives of a Palestinian family. Right now, running for their lives is their only choice.
The funds will be transferred directly via bank account to Ahmed's brother's bank account in Palestine. The funds will be withdrawn and immediately used for relocation purposes.
Pictures, proof and updates will be provided to anyone interested.
ANY amount helps, and will be appreciated. Ahmed and his family are grateful to be alive and will be so thankful for any assistance.
Please note: I cannot post direct images of Ahmed and his family. He feels ashamed of his circumstances, and of people recognising his face as he is now asking for help. I am happy to share images with people of his living conditions, and images of him/ his family with faces blurred. Please understand the current circumstances.
