Akasia Avenue Foundation Campaign

"I was here, I lived, I loved, I was here
I did, I've done, everything that I wanted
And it was more than I thought it would be
I will leave my mark so everyone will know
I was here
I just want them to know
That I gave my all, did my best
Brought someone some happiness
Left this world a little better just because
I was here" - Beyoncé, I Was Here

A short history of where it all began -

Over the past 18 years of my life, I have been actively involved in social projects within my community - ranging from the Rotary International, Sara Fox, YMCA, Red Cross Children's Hospital, and a few other fundraising and other community upliftment projects.

With the passing of my mother in late 2019, I wanted to find a way to carry on her legacy, and honouring her memory, but giving back. Losing someone who you've spent your life trying to make proud, leaves a void when they leave, and starting the Akasia Avenue Foundation (the street in which I was raised), brings life to her memory, and that of my childhood.

Setting out on this journey, I aspire to further collaborate with various business and individuals to uplift and help communities in need. The needs are plenty, and I aim to be of a support to underprivileged schools, youth organisations and old-aged homes in our local community.

The Akasia Avenue Foundation will strive to collect and donate;

  • Food items
  • Sanitary products for girls
  • Toiletries for girls and boys in schools
  • Clothing items for children's homes
  • Toys for children's homes
  • Monetary donations  - this would go towards the collection and distribution of donations

One of the goals is not only to donate, but encourage and provide an opportunity to share stories, and where we can, provide some advice and a way out of poverty, but partnering with local NGOs to provide computer classes, reading sessions, and feeding programs to those who need it most.

Our Goals for 2024!

We're aiming to raise R20 000 for the year - will it be difficult? Of course! Can it be done... YES IT CAN!

Ear-marking this total over twelve months will help us to help those most in need of assistance - whether it be in the form of care packs to women and children in shelters, feeding the homeless, assisting those who cannot afford electricity for their homes and to assist child-care facilities and old-aged homes in the Athlone area and greater surrounds.

WE CAN DO IT WITH YOUR SUPPORT!

Please feel free to use the safe and secure link to make a donation of ANY AMOUNT, and follow us on all of our social media where we make available the projects we're involved in, the letters of thanks, and for you to get intvolved in out next event.

We appreciate all of the support, in ALL forms

Yours sincerely,

Warren V
