Help me Graduate in 2024 Campaign
I am Makungo Valecia from Ha-Makhuvha village in Limpopo, a resilient individual who faced setbacks but continues to pursue a double major in Science at the University of Cape Town. My tenacity defines me.
I chose this course due to a strong passion for research, particularly in Genomic Medicine. The intricate field captivates me, and I am eager to leverage Data Science and Software Engineering for healthcare advancement.
A pivotal moment in my life unfolded when I triumphed over academic failure, a significant setback in 2022 during my final year. Despite narrowly missing the mark by just one course, I remained undeterred. In 2023, I re-enrolled to complete my degree, surmounting financial challenges through an appeal with NSFAS, showcasing my perseverance and determination. This journey embodies my resilience and steadfast commitment, emphasizing my worthiness of investment. Grounded in a deep-seated desire to contribute to scientific progress, I find inspiration in those who gracefully navigate and overcome adversity.
Although my NSFAS funding was approved, payments haven't reflected in my account, hindering my graduation.
I hail from a single-parent, self-employed family unable to cover outstanding fees. Clearing these fees is crucial for me to attain a Bachelor of Science degree with a focus on Biochemistry and Genetics, encompassing Microbiology, Virology, and Biotechnology.
My passion lies in Genomic Medicine, and I aspire to contribute by integrating Data Science and Software Engineering in healthcare. I believe this qualification will not only benefit me but also enable me to support my family and community.
My student number is MKNVAL002:to be used as reference when making payments.Thank you for your consideration.
