DANCING UNDER CROATIAN STARS Campaign

Hi everyone!  I am Teneal.  I am 16 years old & have been dancing since I was 8 years old.

After 8 years of absolute commitment, dedication, a lot of hard work, late night & long hour practices during holidays and over weekends, sweat & tears, the opportunity to compete & represent my country at the Dance Star Croatian Tour, has crossed my path again.  The opportunity presented itself during 2020, but due to the pandemic outbreak, the entire tournament was cancelled.

I am a firm believer that hard work is always rewarded.  It would be a dream come true for me to travel overseas as I have never been out of the borders of South Africa.  Even more so to represent my country in a competition doing what I love the most – dancing!

The competition will take place in Porec, Croatia from 18-27 May 2024 where 12 experienced judges & more than 4000 dancers from over 28 countries all over the world will compete.  I will get to learn new dance styles from other nations, meet new friends and have fun sharing the same passion for dance.

As the next competition will only come around after another 4 years, I would most likely not be able to enter & attend as I’ll be too busy with my studies at university.

I am lucky enough that my grandma was able to loan my mom & I the funds upfront to purchase return flight tickets before prices skyrocket, as I am still a minor & am not allowed to travel alone.  Grandma lives off pension and does not have a fixed income, so it is important for us to have all the funds raised, transferred directly back to her.

The funds required are R30,000 for the flight tickets and R3,000 for x2 visas. 

Anything raised above this, can be used toward spending money.  My accommodation has been sponsored by an angel and mom is paying off her accommodation.

Being able to compete overseas doing what I love most, is something I have dreamed about for the past 4 years.
