Damian needs your help Campaign

1) I have a father-son relationship with the beneficiary, Damian Stephen. He is my only child.

2) It is extremely important that the funds are raised because our family has faced significant financial challenges since 2014 when our family business failed. This has made it very difficult for us to adequately save and prepare for Damian's undergraduate education. Raising these funds will allow Damian to take advantage of the conditional acceptance he has received to Hult International Business School and access the potential for a full MBA scholarship after completion of his undergraduate degree. This is a tremendous opportunity for him that our family circumstances make very difficult to achieve without outside financial assistance.

3) If we are able to raise the necessary funds, it will enable Damian to attend Hult's renowned business program, positioning him well to achieve his ambitions of becoming an ethical and impact-focused finance professional. Given his perseverance through adversity and clear potential, I believe this opportunity has the potential to set him on the path towards becoming an innovative leader that creates positive change in the world. It would give him access to an education and network that our family is simply unable to provide on our own.

4) The funds raised will be used directly for paying Damian's enrolment deposit to confirm his place in Hult's 2024 undergraduate class, as well as going towards his tuition, accommodation and other educational expenses. Any remaining funds would assist with living costs given he will be studying abroad and may allow him to reduce the hours he would otherwise need to devote to employment during his studies. Receiving this financial assistance is instrumental for allowing Damian to actualize this educational opportunity and propelling him towards meeting his full potential.

As Damian's proud father, I have had the privilege of watching him grow into a brilliant, driven, and compassionate young man. Even from a young age, he has shown courage and fortitude in overcoming challenges that would halt many peers.

At 10 years old, Damian was diagnosed with a benign tumour in his leg that not only led to painful medical interventions but denied him participation in the sports he loved. As an only child, long periods confined due to illness or recovery isolated him from vital social connections during his most formative years. The onset of the pandemic threatened a second round of disconnection just as he entered high school. 

Yet Damian met each obstacle with grace, channeling adversity into personal growth through diligent study across diverse fields. He pursued his education independently when traditional structures failed him, absorbing philosophy and psychology alongside typical academic subjects. The adversity cultivated resilience and molded a deep commitment to creating ethical, sustainable progress for the marginalized.
