Esophagectomy For Zechariah Campaign
We are reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a plea for assistance for a brave little boy named Zechariah, who is facing a challenging and life-altering situation.
In December 2022, Zechariah, a 1-year and 7-month-old, innocently played in the yard in Chatsworth, Webedacht. Tragically, he mistook a coke bottle containing a strong engine cleaner for a harmless cold drink and ingested the corrosive substance. As a result, his delicate esophagus suffered severe damage, leading to the need for urgent medical intervention.
Zechariah is scheduled for an Esophagectomy on January 22, 2024, a procedure that involves relocating his stomach in place of the damaged esophagus. This complex surgery requires opening his chest and rearranging internal organs to restore his health. The journey towards recovery is long and arduous, especially for a family facing financial constraints.
As Zechariah's caregivers, we are a 57-year-old SASSA Grant recipient, residing in a one-room house with limited resources. The aftermath of the surgery demands careful attention, including six months of specialized aftercare. We find ourselves in a position where we must humbly seek your support to ensure Zechariah's successful recovery.
The funds raised will be directed towards essential needs during Zechariah's recovery, including:
Baby Food: Specially formulated nutrition crucial for his healing process.
Nappies: Daily necessities to maintain hygiene and comfort.
Disinfectant Supplies: Essential items to keep the home environment sterile.
New Bed: A comfortable and safe sleeping space conducive to recovery.
Transportation: Ensuring timely and reliable travel to and from the hospital for post-surgery appointments.
Your contribution, no matter the size, will make a significant impact on Zechariah's journey towards recovery. Together, we can help this resilient little boy overcome the challenges he faces and provide him with the chance to continue enjoying his childhood.
