BRSI Rugby tour Campaign
My name is Philasande Tlou. I am a 17-year-old Matric student at Standerton Hoërskool, the captain of my school's first rugby team, and I am currently serving as Deputy Head Boy for the year 2022/23. Last year, I was part of the U/18 Pumas Platteland team, and I was selected to trial for the Mpumalanga Sevens rugby team in both 2022 and 2023. I have many passions, but I can confidently say -- and many who know me will agree -- rugby is my life. This is why I am incredibly proud to inform you that I have been selected to be part of the Margate Sportskool u/18 Rugby Team.
It is an immense honour for me to have been recognised as I believe I have put a lot of work into developing myself as a player, and it is amazing to see that my hard work has paid off. What is even more amazing is the fulfilment of a lifelong dream: to travel out of the country. The u/18 Rugby Team will be embarking on a tour to Ireland in December of this year, and ‘excited’ isn't quite the word to express how I feel.
However, my dream come true also comes with quite a hefty price tag attached. R47 000, to be exact.
This amount covers the very bare basics:
I trust that you will consider my plight and help me discover new avenues through which I can achieve my biggest goal.
