Car Repairs 69062 Campaign
Good Morning All,My name is Nicholas Gradwell and i live in Durban, South Africa, I am the sole bread winner and rely on my car daily In December between christmas and new years my car started giving problems that gradually got worse it started with a Rough idle and then the Turbo packed up, i have managed to replace the turbo at a cost of R5200, I am going to list the things that have been done so far to my car to make it easier:
- Turbo has been replaced
- I have replaced 3 sets of spark plugs
- Injectors have been stripped and overhauled and cleaned
- Fan belt has been changed
- Upstream and down stream Oxygene Sensors have both been replaced
- MAPS Sensor has been replaced
- Coil Packs have been replaced
All of this cost close to R12000, I have sent the car to multiple mechanics who have tried to diagnose and fix the problem which hasn't helped. The last mechanic the car went to has said the car is in Limp mode now and that is because the catalytic converter has gone faulty, He wants to do a mini de-cat which will cost around R945 for the cat foolers.
All through this iv asked the mechanics to check the timing chain (If this breaks while driving your pistons and rods get bent, which means the engine needs to be overhauled at a cost R30 000 minimum) And i keep getting told its not the timing chain.
We did send the car to the Renault dealership who put the car on diagnostics and they received a error to do with the Cam position sensor which they say more often than not means the timing is off which means the timing chain and tensioner pully needs to be replaced.
The dealership wants R12000 to do this but unfortunately i am at the point where i can no longer afford any more repairs for my car, Theres no guarantee this will fix the problem but i have no where els to go or turn to i am at my wits end, Hence why i am typing this out here to ask for help.
The funds raised will be able to help me conduct the necessary repair work which would mean i can use my car daily.
